1992 Dream Team Elected to Olympic Hall of Fame

Aug. 14 -- The 1992 U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball Team, better known as the Dream Team, was inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

The first Olympic team to include NBA players, it was sent on a mission to regain the gold medal after a team of college stars lost it to the Soviet Union in 1988.

The team was led by Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan and devastated the competition in both the 1992 Tournament of the Americas and the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

The Dream Team outscored their opponents by an average of 43.8 points, on an Olympic record 117.3 points per game, on their way to reclaiming the gold. The Dream Team is partly responsible for how quickly the game went global.

On hand for the ceremony were seven of the Dream Team members Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, Christian Laettner, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson, and John Stockton.

Michael Jordan-Bulls DVDs carries Jordan complete game DVDs, such as his 69-point game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, his 55-point "double-nickel" game vs. the Knicks in Madison Square Garden, and his 59-point masterpiece against the Pistons, among many others.
