Miami Heat To Retire Hardaway's Jersey

Oct. 26 -- The Miami Heat will retire Tim Hardaway's jersey on Wednesday night in their season debut. When the Heat tips off against the New York Knicks on Oct. 28, Hardaway's No.10 jersey will be displayed in the arena rafters alongside the jersey of former teammate Alonzo Mourning.

Miami will honor the five time All-Star in a pre-game ceremony before a 7:30 tipoff. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Tim Hardaway poster.

Hardway played for the Heat from 1995-2000 and helped them to the Eastern Conference Finals in 1997 and 1999. The Knicks forced Miami into early playoff exits three years in a row - including a seven-game thriller in 2001 when Hardaway was limited because of injuries.

Hardaway was known for his success for shooting the three, and still holds the team record in that category with 806. He also has the all-time team assists record with 2,867.
