NBA's Indiana Pacers to Add Solomon Jones
July 26 -- The National Basketball Association's Indiana Pacers agreed to a two-year deal with forward Solomon Jones, a three-year veteran from the Atlanta Hawks.
At 6-10 and 245-pounds, Jones averaged 3.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 blocks this past season while playing 11 minutes per game. He averaged 2.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 156 career games, all but eight as a reserve.
With a 7-4 wingspan, Jones is regarded as an athlete who can take up space and be a defensive presence in the frontcourt.
Jones played two years in junior college before transferring to South Florida. As a senior, he was second in the Big East in blocked shots (3.0) and rebounds (9.8). Jones was the third pick in the second round by Atlanta in the 2006 draft.
