NBA Passes 2 Million Twitter Followers

August 2 -- According to a news release from the National Basketball Association announced that the official NBA Twitter feed has surpassed two million fans. Overall, the official NBA feed, all 30 NBA team feeds, and more than 165 NBA player feeds have accumulated more than 23 million combined followers across Twitter.

The NBA will celebrate the two-million-fan milestone by unveiling a fan takeover of the league's Twitter feed. Fans will be able to share videos, photos, and messages about their love for the game of basketball. Beginning today, the content NBA fans provide will be posted on the official NBA Twitter page throughout the weeklong celebration.

Additionally, the league will provide all NBA Twitter fans with exclusive discount offers for NBAStore.com, NBA League Pass Broadband, and NBA marketing-partner products from T-Mobile, EA Sports and Right Guard. NBA teams, players, and celebrities will provide special commentary and video, while players will host "Twitterviews" -- live chats on Twitter -- throughout the week.
