Jordan Lauded for Role in Presidents Cup Tournament

Oct. 11 -- Following the resounding US victory in the Presidents Cup golf tournament, captain Fred Couples was very complimentary when describing the role played by NBA legend Michael Jordan, who functioned as the honorary assistant captain.

Jordan was very visible during the tournament, zipping around in a golf cart during the matches and talking to players all week, dispensing of his legendary competitive fire.

.During the week, Jordan suffered one public embarrassment when he was called out for smoking cigars at Harding Park, where the tournament was held. California's state parks are smoke-free.
