Locked-out NBA Refs Might Return for Season

Oct. 20 -- The NBA's locked-out referees might be back on the floor in time for the regular season.

Reportedly, there is a new proposal on the table, and sources indicate that it is "highly likely" they will be on the court for Tuesday's season opener in Cleveland.

Commissioner David Stern and referees union negotiator Lamell McMorris are now involved in the process. Both had previously withdrawn.

The contract between the league and the union expired Sept. 1 and the sides have been unable to reach a deal, though they were close a couple of times.
